Her Complete Healthcare offers the services of a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), giving our patients a special birth “experience.”
Midwifery is a “woman-centered” model of care that has been around for hundreds of years, literally meaning “with woman.” Our CNM can give you individualized support during your pregnancy, labor and delivery and additional gynecological needs.
Services provided by our CNM include:
- Well-Woman Exams
- Pregnancy, Labor and Delivery Care
- Family Planning
- Menopause Counseling and Treatment
Not to be confused with lay midwifes (also known as “Direct-Entry Midwifes” or “Certified Midwives”), CNM’s are dually trained in nursing and midwifery with graduate-level education from an accredited university. In addition, CNM’s are licensed, independent health care providers with prescriptive authority in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, and Puerto Rico and are defined as primary care providers under federal law (source: www.midwife.org).
